i have been a very naughty girl & deserve only the best luxurious lingerie from Bordello Boutique to fill my christmas stocking this year. Heres a little list of the Damaris that i hope will be waiting under my Christmas tree for me...

The first item on my wish list is the beautiful Midnight blue silk bra. I fell in love with the incredibly smooth silk & the deep plunge shape. I must say when i tried it on i was surprised... i have never experienced underwear that could really make your eye colour pop but this bra did just that! The colour is the perfect deep shade of navy blue & feels as smooth  against your skin as it looks. I also love the combination of the contrasting velvet fabric back strap with horseshoe.

Or maybe your black lace corset which would perfectly shape up my winter wardrobe.  The black chain lace make this piece fantastically empowering and provocatively luxurious. Worn with the black lace detailed cut out back briefs. This season it has been all about our beautiful bottoms but this pair of panties take it to a new level with the panels of chain lace.

The last thing on my Damaris wish list is the black lace tie bandeau bra & matching thong with double side strap. As a thong fanatic (i wear a lot of tight jeans!) i find it hard to come across good  thin strapped thongs but this skinny black thong has hit the nail on the head. The double thin ruched side straps add a quirky twist to the incredibly delicate black lace detailing & everything about the thong screams sexy! The black bandeau itself is all about the intricate lace detailing & the sheerness of the lace. The combination of the super soft sheer lace fabric that exposes your nipples & the lace up tie back transforms this bandeau into a very sexy piece. Not just your ordinary black Bandeau & Thong...

Wishin You A Merry Dani Christmas

 As cliched as this may sound, every day is like Christmas at Bordello Boutique. When the postman comes bounding through our double red doors i know that in that big box held between his strong tanned & toned ( i wish...) arms is a whole new set of beautiful lingerie waiting to be explored. Ironically I am not a fan of receiving presents at Christmas although giving is a whole different story. But I’m not writing about my Christmas receiving dilemma; rather about last weeks new Dani Read delivery...
I hope that by now you are all well aware of our new favorite New York girl Dani Read & her Fuck You Industries attitude. Although she may be new onto the London scene, we are embracing her bad girl lingerie with arms wide open, so when our jolly postman popped in last week with the new Dani Read parcel we were like kids in a candy store as we hurriedly opened up the box of Bordello exclusive goodies. Yes, EXCLUSIVE ! Excited, well that would be a complete understatement..
This Winter 2011 Dani Read has created exclusive cherry red silk Gun Knickers just for us. We have affectionately named them The Hoxton Brief, and frankly she's gonna have to make some more!  These knickers are so foxy & there is something dangerously sexy about the double printed hand guns printed across the arse! Yes, the Hoxton Briefs are here to stay .. havent got yours yet well?  you better put your name on the waiting list for next year or run to store quick as these will sell out. 
If that wasnt enough, the Dani Read Leg Harness, made of soft oxblood red (yes thats right, RED!) leather is to die for ! hahaha! these gun holster belts could be worn as both underwear or outerwear as we discovered whilst playing with them in the shop. All i can say is that i am definitely writing Father Christmas a very big letter this year...

My Week With What Katie Did Lingerie...

It seems everywhere i look that the newspapers have been full of praising reviews of the latest film ‘My week with Marilyn’...  I'm not here to give you a film review as i am sure the papers can do a better job at that! although I do have to say Michelle Williams did capture Marilyn Monroe's character with extraordinary likeness! But  rather it's the 1950’s clothing  & beautiful What Kate Did lingerie,  which filled the big screen, that has grabbed my attention. The style team turned to the signature 1950’s lingerie company ‘What Katie Did’ for the 1950s iconic styles such as the spiral stitch, bullet bras & body-shaping corselettes which both featured in the film.

At Bordello, we agree that, the right lingerie is an essential part of getting an authentic 1950s look. The popular Bullet bras were worn to push the breasts into a conical shape and no respectable woman would go without her girdle. What Katie Did, founded by designer Katie Halford, have been manufacturing vintage style lingerie since 1999 & their pieces are frequently used in retro movie & television projects as well as cutting edge fashion magazines.

Admittedly i have always been slightly skeptical of the 1950’s style Bullet Bras, however my opinion is being swayed with the amount of happy customers, drawn into the shop by the Marilyn Monroe inspired window display, strutting out of the Bordello fitting room with a big grin on their face & a Bullet bra in hand!

Madame Bordello Introduces Mademoiselle Fifi Chachnil!

Created in France by the extravagant French designer Mademoiselle Fifi Chachnil, Fifi Chachnil has & will always be a strong name in the Lingerie Industry bringing a little bit of French fancy to the London Woman. Fifi has always strongly admired the British women: “The London girls are daring in their style of dressing, they don’t hesitate, they have audacity & sense of humor, they are excessive but with delicacy”so its no surprise her Parisian Lingerie has flooded onto the British market.

We already stock the Fifi Chachnil deliciously feminine perfume perfect for any vintage lover as well as the Fifi gift sets (Which needless to say would be the perfect stocking filler for any woman this christmas...) But have no fear, thats not all we have got! Last week Bordello received the beautiful Violà l’été   (Lulu) luxury lingerie set. The Lulu set, staying true to the Parisian Fifi style,  is a delicate  shade of pink & black lace detailing. The full cupped shaped pink bra is complemented with a cute pink bow in the front and the edges of the cup is trimmed in fine wispy lace. Pair with either the matching suspender or wear alone with the adorable lace skirt knickers.

Admittedly i do not normally fall instantly for delicate pale underwear but this beautiful cotton candy colored set had us all oohing & aaahing in the shop & wishing our boyfriends will treat us to this christmas

Wolford: A Celebration Of Legs

Gone are the days where woolly tights were acceptable winter hosiery. The temperatures have dropped outside and once again our most glamourous women are stepping out onto the high streets in the very fashionable and utterly slinky Wolford. At Bordello I get the exciting job of viewing all of our new stock before it hits the rails for our lucky customers.  We couldn't quite contain our excitement as we unpacked our new Belle-Et-BonBon Autumn Winter collection this week.

Belle-Et-BonBon was launched in 2010 by Geri Kefford, with flirty tie side brief in cute Christmas bauble packaging! This year she has developed a collection which is simple & sophisticated but still with the fun element! She seeks to celebrate 'the beauty & the erotic curves of a woman's body’ : the result is fuss free sheer lace bodies & lingerie sets which allow the figure to do the talking.

At Bordello Boutique we stock a whole variety of luxury lingerie. From the sensual burlesque to the dark black leather harnesses you will not leave the shop feeling disappointed! Last week our new Made by Niki stock got us hugging and embracing all the right curves that god gave us. However Bordello’s new FYI (Fuck You Industries) by Dani Read lingerie is definitely making a different statement in the shop.

The first thing that struck me about this new collection/ designer was the choices of fabric Dani Read has worked with. She combines slinky black with hard zippers and soft leathers. The debut collection is definitely not for the faint hearted and is inspired by the intensity of the women that wear it. Dani Read, once a musician before turning designer, is pouring her performing experience into her work. Dressing up in the bedroom should be a performance experience for every powerful woman. Read wants women to wear the lingerie for themselves and the collection is, in simple terms, about you.

This Winter season get ready to embrace vintage trends and your hourglass figures. Vintage shapes counterbalance our minimalist clothing trend at the moment and we finally get to show off our womanly waists beneath. Here’s what I have to say...

UK Lingerie & Bodywear label MadebyNiki prides itself on innovation & shaping, resulting in some truly covetable designs and them winning ‘Shapewear Brand of the Year’ at the first UK Lingerie Awards 2011. Last week at Bordello our  MadeByNiki Autumn Winter 11 delivery arrived and I had the exciting job of trying each and every beautiful piece on.

This summer they released the String collection with its trademark skin tingling sensation & stunning string formation. It was no surprise it became a favorite among the stars including KT Tunstall, Paloma Faith and Alexandra Burke. These pieces were among some of this summer seasons favorite, selling out of the shop as fast as they had arrived.

The winter‘Feel’ collection features sculptural bras, waist cinchers and body-control panties & dresses whose super-soft body-sculpting modal fabric just begs to be touched. The collection has already featured in Elle, Cosmopolitan and Instyle Magazine. 

Available in dusty pink or jet black, it’s interesting how a choice of colour can change the tone of the lingerie from pretty in pink to dark and seductive. Luckily for us MadebyNiki has given us two choices of bra & brief: the Bandeau  with strapless option or  Bullet bra for the bigger bust & Brazilian or Girdle knickers with detachable suspenders. Both knickers incorporate the super soft modal fabric with pretty lace panel sides with ladder stitch detailing.  For all the hourglass women the Girdle knickers sit  high on the hip & nip in the waist , while the Brazilian tanga shape flatters the bottom. Their naughty zippers gave an unexpected surprise &  as usual MadebyNiki helps to hit the curves in all the right places!

What struck me most about this seasons MadebyNiki was how they managed to combine sexy with comfort. It  features practical solutions such as strapless bandeau bras & detachable suspenders. The fabric is thick enough to say outerwear & sturdy enough to offer shaping and support yet the lace panels, decorative ladders & soft ness of the fabric made me yearn for it next to my skin. 

And as far as the fabulous bodycon Girdle zipper dress was concerned, it was hard for me to take it off. In fact I just wanted to add my stockings and heels and walk out the door !

Although dealing with all different styles in the lingerie industry, from Vintage to Burlesque to Bondage, our heart will always be on the dark side. The Bondage style is incredibly flexible and contemporary, with the ability to wear your naughty underwear as outerwear. Josefine Wing designer of Mint Siren grasps this idea and infuses both aspects into her designs: fashion outerwear as well as for your own guilty pleasure. Following the success of their luxurious leather lingerie, Mint Siren has steamed ahead producing more lust worthy pieces that we dream of.

With the focus on contrasting elements of silk and leather, OMD brings out your dark side to play. Everyone loves to believe that who they are and what they wear is unique to them.
